DUNDEE FOOD BANK MANAGER

Dundee Foodbank is looking for a Full-Time Manager

The Manager will be responsible for day-to-day management and development of the Food Bank, which includes five distribution centres across the city. Office administration, staff management, budget and funding management are requisites.

The successful applicant for this challenging post will be committed to Dundee foodbank’s values and its determination to provide compassionate, practical support to those in crisis in Dundee. S/he will be willing to work with a wide range of church and community groups, local businesses, and volunteers, and will have excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills supported by relevant previous management experience.
This is a 2 year contract. Salary scale £21,000-£24,000 dependant on experience.

Job Vacancy: Community Support Worker

As part of its outreach programme Lochee Parish Church is looking for an experienced person to provide a high level of support and care, appropriate to the needs of clients recovering from addiction issues, in the context of the community.
You will be responsible for developing this work, building a client list from referrals through our church community cafe and from other agencies working locally. You will also contribute to the development and setting up of care plans for clients, in partnership with other agencies.

Your work will be part of the overall youth and family strategy of our church working in the community. Ideal candidates will be confident, assertive, with excellent communication skills and will have experience working in a similar role. A down to earth nature and a good sense of humour is essential.

You will be required to work flexibly to suit the needs of the project. You will be able to work well both individually and within a team and will also be competent in liaising with outside agencies and family members where appropriate.

It is preferred, but not essential, that the applicant for the post will have a Christian commitment.  It is essential that he/she will uphold our Christian ethos. This requirement is a Genuine Occupational requirement in terms of the Employment Equality (Religion and Belief) Regulations 2003.

Please note that this post is considered regulated work with children and vulnerable adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scot) Act 2007 and successful applicants will be required to join the PVG scheme or undergo a PVG scheme update check prior to taking up this role.

Providing funding is available, the post will continue up to when maternity cover is no longer required.

· develop community initiatives which offer a practical response to the causes and effects of poverty and hardship in Dundee.
· build active links between faith groups, the wider community and local support agencie

Could you volunteer?

Stay and Play Family Support Group for families in Mid Craigie/Linlathen and Douglas.

The latest government statistics show this area to be one of the most deprived areas of Dundee and it is vital that the church reaches out to those families with children under 5 years. We are here to show God’s love in action and we work in a holistic way with absolutely no hint of judgement.

- Please, please can you help us?
- We are now desperate for volunteers
- Are you a good listener?                                                                                         
- Do you enjoy being around children?
- Can you make soup?
- Are you happy to work in the kitchen?

Starter Packs is looking for New Committee Members

Starter Packs Dundee are looking for new members for their management committee, especially for a secretary to the committee who can take minutes for the meetings and organise the AGM along with a few other tasks.  We would also like to recruit someone with fundraising knowledge to organise coffee mornings and other small events in Dundee.

Volunteers Needed for St. Ninian’s Stay and Play Family Support Group




St Ninian's Stay and Play Family Support Group supports families with children 0 -5 years. We need Volunteers on a Monday and Tuesday in four areas -

 

·         volunteers who would enjoy playing with children 

·         volunteers who would be happy to work with parents

·         volunteers who could prepare our lunches

·         volunteers who could come at 2.30 p.m. to put equipment away and assist with cleaning.

Group  Leader

3 year contract

Hours of Work 24 hours weekly

Monday - Wednesday

Salary £20,000.00

 

Stay and Play Family Support Group works with families and their children 0 – 5years in the Mid Craigie, Douglas, and Linlathen areas of Dundee. As Group Leader you will be responsible for promoting and expanding the Group and making effective links between the Group, local community and statutory services. Knowledge of working with families in the community and an ability to work in partnership with the voluntary and statutory services is essential. The post holder will have experience in early years' education / social work - children’s services / community education.
